A young girl is on
the beach and builds a sand castle. Once she is gone lights appear in the
castle windows. Little people are in the castle and go on a boating
adventure.

Personal Reaction:
|
One of the most
beautifully colored picture book this reviewer has ever seen and the whole
book allows for multiple retellings that spark the imagination. One
controversial element I foresee is that the young girls is on the beach
alone, without anyone else around. This is not a safe portrayal for children
and adults of 2-4 year olds should discuss the safety issue of this behavior.
